Heath Ledger-directed hip-hop video released online
A music video directed by the late Heath Ledger has been released online. Ledger directed the video for 'Cause An Effect' for long-time friend and Aussie hip hop star N'Fa (short for No Fixed Abode) and produced it with the Masses, a film and music company that Ledger himself was a partner in.
Talking about the experience in a MySpace video post, N'Fa (who you might recognise as the former frontman of award-winning Aussie hip-hop group 1200 Techniques) said: "Every day I count my blessings that he directed this piece of art. It was a song I was proud to have written but I never expected to have such an immense video made for it. I'd known Heath since we were very young and he was always a creative guy and, in many ways, ahead of the curve."
The clip debuted at the 2009 Rome Film Festival and is only one example of Ledger's increasing involvement in the music industry before his untimely death in January 2008. The The Dark Knight star had also directed music videos for Modest Mouse, the late Nick Drake and Australian singer/songwriter Grace Woodroofe.
