Michael Jackson's This Is It reviews out
The first reviews of the Michael Jackson documentary This Is It, which chronicles what would have been Jackson's final tour, have hit news publications worldwide. The result: "'This Is It' is absolute proof that Michael Jackson was one of the greatest performers of our lifetime," one reporter claimed.
The documentary, which was masterminded by Kenny Ortega, had its public debut at midnight screenings last night.
With the late singer already having earned $90 million since his death 125 days ago there is speculation that the documentary is set to be one of Jackson's most lucrative career moves to date. With a cinema run, a DVD box set and memorabilia set to follow, Jackson's estate could see tens of millions more through the film's public release.
Here in Australia there has already been $2 million-worth of advanced sales recorded by Sony Pictures, who bought the rights to the movie from concert promoter AEG for a reported $65 million.
This Is It premiered in Sydney last night at a red carpet event at Event Cinemas' George Street complex in Sydney.
